"Aligarh:The City Of Belonging"

I remember with shivering hands and legs, landed in the city and hugged me like a stranger turned out to be a childhood friend. It was July 7, 2019; and I walked down the Aligarh Junction. The very first time I had officially left home behind. Dreams can make us leave the most loved thing in our lives.

The campus of Aligarh Muslim University feels like heaven and so is life here. Being an introvert, I was having conversations with the corners of campus and letting them know the feelings I was having since I was away from home. After days, it felt like a home. I came across kind-hearted people who had stories to tell about cultures and their highs and lows. The place which witnessed the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Hostel life taught us how to be together and how to be independent.

On April 10, 2023; my official journey on campus ended and so did my school life. I was night and morning apart as on this morning I was about to board the train which is the same train that took me to this city in the night like 4 years ago. My heart was feeling heavy as it was tearing apart but life is not about being static. You always have to be in a dynamic state. Today is April 10,2024; it has been 1 year since leaving that place and it still feels like yesterday. Truly, Aligarh is "the City of Belonging."
